While We Watched is a documentary that follows the life of Ravish Kumar, a renowned Indian journalist known for his independent and critical reporting. The film explores the challenges faced by journalists in India’s increasingly polarized media landscape, where truth and objectivity are often compromised for sensationalism and ratings. Through Kumar’s experiences, the documentary sheds light on the importance of independent journalism and the threats it faces in a democratic society. While We Watched won the prestigious Peabody Award in 2024 in the Documentary category.
