Legends and myths make up the folklore of a place, and Goaa abounds in such stories, passed on from generation to generation from its hoary past. While some legends are handed down through an oral tradition, others emanate from ancient scriptures and historical records. The author shares with his readers a virtual treasure chest of legends of Goa. Ne it the tragic love stories of Mogarem and Dona Paula or the heroics of Kushtoba, each has a compelling tale to tell. Like old wine, legends mature and gain additional flavours from each re-telling, new embellishments clouding the original but imparting a fresh twist to the tale.
