In our fraught and polarized times, amid the rampant destruction of social structures, institutions, and families (and of some individual minds, in the post-lockdown years), Goa Writers brings you this labour of love, Ways of Belonging: New Writing from Goa, to demonstrate there are many different ways of belonging, with the theme inspired by a poem of the same name by the late, great Eunice de Souza.
Not available in-store, but available to order. We expect copies soon and will ship as soon as they are available.
Ways of Belonging: New Writing from Goa is a compelling collection featuring multiple Goan Writers. The anthology unfolds a diverse array of essays, each a unique exploration of belonging inspired by Eunice de Souza’s poem of the same name.

About the Contributors
Goa Writers is a vibrant, diverse community of writers with a strong connection to Goa. Most of us are published authors or journalists, though there are some who are working to get there. We meet every month, for the mutual support and solidarity that only other writers can extend, with the express purpose of encouraging more and better writing from and about India's smallest state. Initiated in 2005 after a workshop by Victor Rangel-Ribeiro - who remains the group's doyen at the age of 97 - Goa Writers have gone on to publish many dozens of books, contribute mightily to periodicals both in and outside Goa, and host many important workshops and related cultural events, including the acclaimed Goa Arts & Literature Festival, now in its 12th edition. In 2021, our beloved member Damodar Mauzo won the Jnanpith Award, the highest literary award in the country.
GW's first anthology Inside Out (2011) is now out of print but remains precious for anyone interested in Goa or good writing from India. From Mind to Keyboard (2015) is a useful collection of the writing journeys of our members (and some others) which is now used as reference material by students of journalism.
