Pouting and shouting – that’s what Anya has been doing ever since her baby brother came along. Because he is a “special child”, her mother says, and needs special care all the time. And Anya is fed up. Then along comes a butterfly – no, a butterbeing! – who takes her up into the clouds, where she sees how a bit of this and a bit of that is mixed together so that every child is special. Anya too!

From one of the best known writers of India comes this highly original picture book on inclusiveness. With a bit of sci-fi, a bit of humour, a large bit of inventiveness, and cheerful pictures that bring it all together.

About the Contributors

The author lives and works in Mumbai. He has no children but he had a special mother and he was often angry with her. But she laughed a lot so he knows now, thanks to the butterbeing, that she loved him anyway.

The illustrator worked on this book during her internship. Pursuing her passion for illustration with a BFA in the USA, she hopes to spark children's imaginations with many more books.
