About the Contributors

A graduate of Smith College, Massachusetts, the author worked as an assistant director on the Hindi film Satya. Shakuntala & other Timeless Tales of Ancient India and Growing up in Pandupur (co-authored) are some of her books for children. Her short stories have appeared in anthologies by Puffin, Scholastic, HarperCollins, Wisdom Tree, and Talking Cub, and in English textbooks across India. The rights to her film scripts have been bought by Aamir Khan Productions Ltd. and Excel Entertainment.

Krishna Bala Shenoi's illustrations, spanning a variety of styles, have accompanied children's literature in books produced by esteemed publishing houses across India. When he's not hanging out with the animal friends he has made in his Bangalore neighbourhood, he contributes to children's storytelling, imbuing his artwork with gentleness and a sense of wonder.
