About the Contributors

The author is Founder Trustee, Titli Trust and member, Kalpavriksh Environmental Action Group. He works with local communities, incentivising nature conservation in the Himalayan region. He enjoys writing about the the natural world and has authored numerous books, papers and popular articles on mammals, birds, butterflies and moths, amphibians and reptiles; anything in nature that moves, really!

The illustrator worked as an artist In a commercial design unit for 23 years. She then joined the Bharti Vidyapeeth Institute for Environment Education, where her interest in environment deepened. Since 2010, she has worked as a freelancer. She has made posters, books, leaflets etc. for NGOs like WWE, Ecosystems India, Kalpavriksh, and Sahjeevan. She has contributed to a mobile exhibition on pastoralism, “Living Lightly” and drawn about 90 plants of Ladakh for Ladakh Society for Traditional Medicine. Her cherished passion is to illustrate Indian flora and fauna while listening to music.
