About the Author
The author is a teacher of Konkani. She lives in Nagoa (Bardez) and has written for several Konkani publications. She has contributed to Amcho Avaz (of the Herald group), the monthly Goykar and the century-old Dor Mhonneachim Rotti. She also earlier wrote for the Vauraddeancho Extt, published by the Pilar Society; the Porzoll magazine (published by the Diocesan Catechetical Centre) and her village parish bulletin Suvas. Her special interests lie in poetry, mimicry and writing about food. She has also written articles and one-act plays (nattkulim).
A multi-talented person, she is recognised for her skills as a compere, raising of the toast, acting and singing, music, dancing and football. Her hobbies include cycling. Her father, Fenelon D’Souza, was a football player for the noted Salgaocar Club around the 1970s. Her mother is Rosa Maria D’Souza of Nerul. She owes a special debt to her grand-mother, the late Cristalina Desa e Pereira of Nagoa. She acknowledges the help given for this book by Fr Eusebio Gomes sfx, and his constant encouragement and support.
