About the Authors

Abhijit Kundu is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi. His doctoral work is on cinema and gender studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His areas of interest are sociology of contemporary India and sociological theories and methods.

Nupurnima Yadav did her PhD from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Sri Venkateswara College. She has also undertaken various research projects with UNICEF and Delhi government. Her publications include, Creative Destruction and Enterprising Economy, in the (eds) Crisis of Social Transformation in India (2015), Fearsome Goddess Seetala and Faithful Communities published in Nidan: International Journal for the Study of Hinduism.
