This, the fifth of five volumes, published in the Konkani language (lingua bramana), was printed in Goa between 1658-59. Its author, Fr. Miguel de Almeida of the Society of Jesus, was rector of the Colleges of Rachol and St. Paul. A doctrinal book that contains sermons and homilies, the five volumes of Jardim dos Pastores are also known by their Konkani name, Vonvallyancho Mollo. It has been noted that the religious connotations found in these books are similar to those in another book printed during the same period: Thomas Stephens’ Doutrina Christa em Lingua Bramana-Canarim, published in 1622.

According to ManoharRai SarDessai, this collection by Fr. Miguel de Almeida is ‘a masterpiece of Konkani prose’ while Jose Pereira called it Miguel de Almeida’s ‘prose poem’, further adding that it is ‘a sort of Summa Theologica in Konkani.’ According to Olivinho Gomes, ‘this magnificent work deals with the fourfold garden of Heaven, Eden, the Catholic Church and the saints’ and is ‘a summary of Christian faith.’ An examination of its language reveals a strong Portuguese influence on the Konkani language.
