Over almost ten years, The Peacock daily newspaper has become synonymous with the grand annual occurrence of the International Film Festival of India and its vibrant permanent home in Goa. Right from inception, this labour of love created by young and enthusiastic writers, journalists, artists, illustrators and photographers has been one of a kind, and has rapidly achieved the status of a collector’s item.
The hallmark of this unique publication from Goa has always been its original art work and high-quality content though The Peacock focuses on films and the festival, it has not confined itself to the same Under the able leadership of the editorial team and quaility contributors. It has also reflected and captured the changing socio-cultural ethos of Goa and the city of Panjim.
The Peacock Quarterly is the outcome of a need to have a larger canvas where Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) could leverage the Peacock brand and the excellent capabilities of the Peacock team. This shift in format however does not mean that The Peacock will abandon its roots or that the festival daily will be discontinued.
