Moving through these critical moments, Khalidi interweaves the voices of journalists, poets and resistance leaders with his own accounts as a child of a UN official and a resident of Beirut during the 1982 seige. About the Author
The author is a Palestinian American historian and the Edward Said professor of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University where he also serves as the director of the Middle East institute. He is the editor of the Journal of Palestine. His previous books include Palestinian Identity, The Iron Cage, and Brokers of Deceit.
