About the Author

The author writes about animals, geography, and anything else she wants to learn more about. When she was a high-school student in Indianapolis, Indiana, she dressed up as Georgia O'Keeffe and pretended a banana was one of the desert bones that Georgia painted. Gabrielle now lives in New York and, with her twin fifth graders, likes to draw pictures of their guinea pigs, find geocaches, and write postcards to help increase voter turnout. She is grateful to all of those who have written about inspiring artists, including Roxana Robinson, the author of Georgia O'Keeffe: A Life.

The illustrator began her initial career as a graphic designer. After graduating from the University of Huddersfield with an MA in Spatial Design, she went on to work as an interior designer for commercial clients. She loves working with layout and colour to create impactful illustration and enjoys combining illustration with type and font selection to create a balance between text and image. When she is not creating, she is busy looking after her horse, dog, and two cats. She is currently based in Yorkshire, UK.
