About the Author

Pankaj Mishra is an Indian essayist and novelist. Mishra writes literary and political essays for the New York Times, the New York Review of Books, The Guardian, and the London Review of Books among other American, British and Indian publications. His latest book, A Great Clamour: Encounters with China and Its Neighbours, was published this September.

Supriya Nair is an editor at Brown Paper Bag, and the former associate editor at the Caravan. She lives in Mumbai.
