This book uses modern linguistic strategies of language learning, keeping in mind the needs of students who need to use the new language in their daily lives.

Modern language learning insists that the language is to be spoken in the first place; that reading and writing comes later on. This book therefore lays emphasis on pronouncing the words and speaking out the sentences that are being learnt.

In this book, the grammar notes that have been provided, alongside explanations of grammar rules, are meant to help students grasp the structure of Konknni (Konkani). An effort has been made to describe the distinctive elements of pronunciation, grammatical forms, and typical sentence patterns of Konknni. This, the author hopes, will help the student learn the language intelligently.
