The Mobile Phone is a story of connecting with the child within us. It is a story set in Delhi, and is abuot Rohit, a tutor, and Prabhu, a child he tutors in the city. The author uses ‘the paper mobile phone’ as a metaphor for those who are absent, those we seek, or those who could hold us in our helplessness. The novel makes an attempt to understand death, and deal with mourning. It looks at child’s play and fantasy, and at adults evolving in a relationship.
